It is a busy period for Spanish clubs as they combine domestic duties and European competition. It is a tricky looking fixture list ahead this weekend and I am going to focus mainly on goals.
Barcelona host the bottom club Deportivo La Coruna and despite recent issues, can be trusted to score in both halves against the worst defence in the league. Celta Vigo were very impressive when they hosted Real Madrid in the Copa Del Rey defeating them 2-1 and caused them plenty of problems. Jose Mourinho is likely to rotate his squad and this will make them more vulnerable to conceding. Barcelona to score in both halves and Celta Vigo simply to find the net against Real Madrid is around 14/10 (2.38) and has a great chance of landing.
Levante have lost their last 2 home matches as a long season has seemingly caught up with them. They host Getafe this weekend who have found the net in 11/13 away matches this season in the league. With Levante only failing to find the net twice at home and only keeping 2/12 clean sheets at home this season, both finding the net seems a likely scenario.William Hill go 10/11 (1.91) on both teams scoring
Combine Barcelona to sore both halves with Celta Vigo over 0.5 goals

Levante v Getafe both teams to score (Yes)

We are back after the international break and it looks an attractive fixture list in Spain. Barcelona, Real Madrid and Malaga all have important quarter final matches in the UCL next week so expect them to rotate their squad.
Even with rotations Real Madrid look primed to defeat Real Zaragoza who are without a victory in 2013. Zaragoza have regressed significantly so it is hard to see them registering points here. The 4/9 (1.45) in places is short enough so I would look for an angle on a better price. For example, the result and total goals market with Bet365 is interesting. Real Madrid win and under 3.5 goals is 7/5 (14/10) and worth considering. 4/7 of Madrid’s away victories have come with under 3.5 total goals.
Sevilla are 5/4 (2.25) in places to defeat Levante on Saturday night. It is a dreadful price considering Sevilla have lost 9/11 away matches and have only won 1 away match all season. The general advice is to lay Sevilla. Despite Levante losing key striker Martins, they will still make it difficult for any visitors. I like the 31/20 about Levante draw no bet with BetVictor. Stake returned in event of draw.
Real Madrid win with under 3.5 total goals 7/5 (14/10) Bet365
Oppose Sevilla – Suggestion Levante draw no bet 31/20 Bet Victor
We have an interesting fixture list ahead for the weekend and I have selected a couple of selections which I feel gives us a good chance of winning at reasonable odds.
Deportivo La Coruna travel to Getafe on Saturday desperate for the points to help lift them off the foot of the table. A strong trend in their away matches this season has been their ability to find the net with them scoring in 9/11 matches on the road. They have kept zero clean sheets so both teams to score appeals at 10/11 (1.91) with William Hill.
Real Madrid travel to Granada on Saturday night and they have certainly upped their game in recent matches with impressive performances against Valencia, Getafe and Barcelona in the Copa Del Rey. An interesting feature about the home matches of Granada is the lack of high scoring matches. None of their home matches have gone over 3.5 goals this season. In fact we have to go back to last April 2012 to find a league match that had 4 or more goals at Granada. They do make it difficult for opponents here and I discovered an extraordinary statistic in my research for this match. Granada have suffered only 1 defeat at home by 2+ goals since 2009 in all competitions. If you win at this venue, it is nearly always by the minimum. For such a small club who struggle at this level, that is an impressive record. On that statistic, Granada +2 on the handicap at 4/5 (1.80) appeals. I prefer the total goals market here with 2-3 total goals at a bigger price of 13/10 (2.30) with Betfred. It fits in with the trend of under 3.5 match goals and it has delivered in 7/10 home matches this season.
Getafe v Deportivo la Coruna both teams to score yes 10/11 (1.91) WH
Granada v Real Madrid Total goals 2-3 13/10 (2.30) Betfred
Alternative Granada (+2) 4/5 (1.80) Boylesports
It is a tricky looking fixture list in La Liga this weekend so do bet with care. It is a busy period after the International friendlies and with the return of the UCL in midweek pay particular attention to team news.
The double chance market is interesting and by covering 2 out of 3 possible outcomes in a tight match the odds are shifted in your favour significantly. Valencia have a Champions League match on Tuesday and they could be forgiven if they had their minds on that ahead of their trip to Celta Vigo. They are probably worth laying in Vigo as the host team have only lost twice at home this season and they are a solid unit on home soil. Bet365 go 1/2 (1.50) on Celta Vigo double chance. Malaga are undefeated in 14/17 away matches in all competitions this season and they go to Levante. The Valencia based side are strong at home but they were lucky to defeat Valladolid in their previous home match and have lost 4/6 league matches. Malaga can avoid defeat here. Bet365 go 2.32 (13/10) on both Celta Vigo and Malaga avoiding defeat. You may get a better price on the exchanges.
Real Madrid are 2/5 (1.40) in places to overcome Sevilla on Saturday night. I think they will be eager to boost confidence ahead of the UCL clash against Manchester United and Sevilla are ideal guests. Sevilla have conceded over 1.5 goals in previous 7/8 away matches. They are capable of making things difficult but they carry only a limited threat going forward and are perfectly capable of falling apart too. I like Real Madrid (-1) on a straight handicap at 10/11 (1.91)
Celta Vigo and Malaga double chance combination 13/10 (2.32) Bet365
Real Madrid (-1) 10/11 (1.91) General
